Eunji Cho is a Seoul born artist. She unfolds in her work the realm of the unconscious that emerges when non-human beings are fused with the human. She creates spatial installations that evoke rituals and ceremonies, and presents performances that involve repetitive actions. In her series of works, Cho made use of materials floating around the city, mud and dirt, to experiment with endlessly reestablishing the boundaries between the invisible unconscious world and the human consciousness. Through her audio and video works that directly reveal the skin or body of animals, the artist explores the political, social, and cultural landscapes that we perceive intuitively, while composing herown narrative as a way to escape from the histories imposed bydominant narratives.
